I think part of the problem is that CK and Shapiro and people like them know how to clip parts that SOUND way less extreme and circulate those so that people will see only those and get a generally favorable impression of them without ever seeing the horrific stuff. I've talked to SO many people 1/2
who have zero idea what these people really believe because they've seen edited down version of their least controversial opinions. It's very annoying. Luckily a lot of the time when I show those people longer, unedited clips they no longer like them, but still. 2/2

Fair. I try very hard to not remove friends due to politics because I've known very loving people with very stupid politics. And also I want to be able to change people's politics. So a lot of the time it's like "he just said trans women have an advantage over cis women in contact sports" & I'm 1/2
like,..well, 1, that's largely(if not entirely?) incorrect. 2....um, he also advocated violence against trans people and harassed trans people... and usually they're like "Oh gross. Fuck him." I don't fully understand how that's the case, but it is. 2/2

It's definitely not exclusively what I've seen. And is not what I've seen with random folks online. But for most people in my personal life that's the case. Of course I'm also a radical leftie queer person. So they kinds of "conservatives" or moderates who would chill with me might be different..
