Dude, that's amazing, and honestly seems entirely plausible. Can anyone (sorry for not scrolling through all of the comments) provide the source for this?

1 billion is a thousand millions. 340 million in the U.S. now figure out how many billions from the wealthiest 1%? Spread that around. Lots of people just don’t understand the exponential difference.
Just for the record, I don’t have the wealth #’s of the top 1%. I also have a hard time believing this could be annual salaries for 340 million people.
Per person, it would be around 238 trillion (yearly) but he says per family. Idk how this is broken down per family. 4 people to a family, it’s still trillions, yearly.
Thank you!
Still, if the graphic is remotely accurate - damn...
I have solved problems that involved literal picoseconds, so the math isn't my issue. It's the source data (which admittedly I haven't tried to find or corroborate!)
I don’t think it’d be easy. Even if we had exact $$$ numbers of top %, anything with growth (interest, stocks, real-estate etc) is constantly in flux. I just worked it backwards. If we averaged 4 to a family (340 million divided by 4) & gave each group 700,000 what do we get?
Wait Renee, are you suggesting that arbitrary tariffs might have an influence on the market, or that perhaps we can't accurately assess crypto assets, etc? Oh shit... you might be right. I guess the best all we can do is take a stab at it. Where is Randall Munroe when you need him!?
lol argh nooo I haven’t included that but sure, it’ll influence things, how could it not?
I dunno - I just feel like the numbers presented would be compelling to so much of the populace, but I also feel like I kinda gotta fact-check it before parroting something I saw on social media. I appreciate your input!
