I get your point! My interpretation of kitsch was instilled in me as a tyke in the 70s, and at the time it symbolized something like Trump's gold leaf in the Whitehouse. It meant garish, gaudy, sans a redeeming quality. But language and meaning change over time, and that's what makes it so cool!
