I grew up 7miles south of OK. I couldn't wait 2 get outta that wreck of a town. I was forced 2 have an abortion by my parents & the father's parents. Once the word was out, I was bullied mercilessly. Yeah - thought it was sad how pregnant girls treated back then. Seems worse now. When I was in the orphange and a girl disappeared overnight - we knew why. Most of the time never seen again because she was banned. I’m familiar w that home. We had an unwed home connected us to us.
Really? Spent my first 10 yrs in Grayson county. Used to ride my bike to the red river to fish in the summers. And my dad - the bootlegger of the county during that time. I’m so very sorry you went thru that. A 17 yr old disappeared from my neighborhood when she got pregnant - was sent to unwed home

Lol - that’s who I identify with in that movie! Wow! That is a small town. I was in Denison- not far from you. Yeah - I tried to take on a group once. They showed me. But I got them back. One by one and when least expected. Lake Texoma and Burns Run were my fav. But so was the River.

Yeah - main was the drag back then. So was whatever street the wagon wheel was on. I loved Main Street and the cobblestones. Used to go watch the trains too. I bet that place has changed a lot.
Mom worked for the Katy railroad back then!! Yes, the trains!! Main street is no longer curvy. We visited Hendrix awhile back & Main st is now straight!! Im like, "What happened!?" I liked it curvy!! We used to camp out at Eisenhower or West Burns Run. Ski & take the dirt bikes!! SO FUN!! 🏞🚤🛵🏍
Lol - that would be me!!! I only went camping at the river and some secret place my dad found. But no tent!!! Truck bed for me, ground for him, truck cab for my mom. But the food was great!
Such great memories! Is the train depot still there? I used to hide behind those big poles until I heard a train coming. There was an elderly man there who would give me M&M’s. Innocent days. Lol - there was a bank w revolving doors- my fav toy. Drove them nuts but so much fun! Sad about main st!!!!
