Yeah - main was the drag back then. So was whatever street the wagon wheel was on. I loved Main Street and the cobblestones. Used to go watch the trains too. I bet that place has changed a lot.

Mom worked for the Katy railroad back then!! Yes, the trains!! Main street is no longer curvy. We visited Hendrix awhile back & Main st is now straight!! Im like, "What happened!?" I liked it curvy!! We used to camp out at Eisenhower or West Burns Run. Ski & take the dirt bikes!! SO FUN!! 🏞🚤🛵🏍
Lol - that would be me!!! I only went camping at the river and some secret place my dad found. But no tent!!! Truck bed for me, ground for him, truck cab for my mom. But the food was great!
Denison!!
Hey! You know Denison? My town!!!
Born and raised. Now, I’m right across the lake. My dad and grandfather were train engineers in Denison and my mom worked at the old mall hair salon. 🙋♀️
Wow! Such a small world!! I have fond memories of Denison. I bet it’s grown and changed a lot. Back in my time - 1 sheriff that I knew of. He earned his salary w my dad and me - lol
This is CRAZY!! Mom worked for MKT RR & when BNSF bought them out she transferred to Omaha, NE. They have the BEST train museum I've ever seen!! Nice zoo, too!! #trains
So no more MKT? My fav part of the train was the caboose
Mine, too!! Waving at them was so COOL!!!
It was!!! There were tracks not far from where I lived. I’d always go to one set and wait for the train. The other set of tracks, I’d play on/ride my bike across the trestle and wait for the train to pull out of dock by the mill. No one ever accused me of being bright. Wonder if that’s still there?
Oh we used to play on a RR trestle in Bells off of Hwy 69!! No.. not the best idea!! 🤪🤣😂🤣🤣
My dad retired from BNSF after taking a buyout from the southern Pacific Railroad. My uncles worked for the Katy and UP. I was raised in the depot in Sherman with my grandpa. Cream soda and bugles chips from the vending machine and picnic on the platform. 🤣
I lived in Sherman for awhile. Only 2 months. Not far from the college.
OMG!! I can't tell you how many times I've been past the Quaker plant!! Stopped bc of trains switching up cars. 😜 This is SO WILD!! Just told hub abt meeting you & the lady from Denison!! Fate?!🤷♀️🤔
Fare it is!
Good morning!! 🌞 I hope you tackle this week w extreme prejudice!! 😉😆🤣🤗🤗🤗
♥️♥️ So crazy!!
You like "Gangsta rap, TOO???" OMG!! HOT DAMN!! Do you like GloRilla?? Shes my girl at the moment!! Ripping those men apart, the "big G L O, in that Gle!!" Hair, face, A$$, um... boobs!! 🎵🎶 youtu.be/uzOo3Mc5Fsg?...
She’s awesome! Did you see the craziness where she was arrested for pot after she called the cops about a break in? I had just watched her perform at the WNBA all star game. Guess it happened then. I love her saying let me tell you who I am real quick. Too bad couldn’t say it to the cops
YES!! I was proud of her for turning herself in. "Yup!! It's mine, & what you gonna do abt the break-in??? MmmHmm!
Yeah - now just why were the cops more focused on the pot instead of the break in? Don’t get me started…
Love glo 🤣. My daughter went to Coachella the last 2 years and she likes country 🎵 and I’m telling her to go to the triple 6 stage 🤣🤣.
There's a young Black guy that works at nearby Walmart. He dies LOL when I come thumping thru the parking lot w windows down & stereo on LOUD!! 📢😆🤣🤣 OH, I'll drop it like its hot in the parking lot, too. Esp if "Push It,"comes on!! LM-ENTIRE-AO at myself!! IDC,"Im 66 & have more insurance!"🤜🏻🤛🏾💯💃💃💃➡️➡️
You’re too funny! I bought my pickup from a young guy. He didn’t tell me it had mufflers on it to wake the dead. He also had a skull Sticker on the back. I left it. And giggle at the looks I get when they see who is driving it.
My dogs next to me are named Buddy and Idgey!! 🤣🤣 I use to drag main with a lowered Chevy s10 and system from worldwide. 💀
⬅️⬅️ Push it REAL GOOD!! 😆😆💃💃💃💃💃
Isn't this CRAZY!! On a platform as large & far reaching as Bsky, we 3 run into each other. Is this a sign from the great beyond... Ann Richards ghost looping us together?! Mmm.. 🤔🤔🤔👻👻👻💙💙💙
I love it!!!! Who knew??? My fav trio: Ann, Molly, Liz. I would have loved being a fly on the wall when those 3 got together. Ann had such a mouth that could make a sailor blush and I loved it.
Oh, INDEED!! I was brokenhearted when Cecille passed. I championed her, too, for her dedication to women's health!!
Me too! I was shocked!! Loved her.
SAME!! I wish she had followed in mom's footsteps 👣 but she had her own contributions to make!! 💯🎯✔️
Me too. But the granddaughter Lily is active in politics too. I remember Ann bringing her to the Lady Longhorn basketball games when she was like 4 or 5. Watched her grow up there. What an amazing young woman - but who would expect anything less being related to Ann?

Awe yes!! The glorious river!! SO FUN!! I can recall sleeping in pickup bed. Mom insisted we sleep in the tent while mom & dad slept outside in the fresh air, under the willows. Dad became an auctioneer & finally came home w a popup camper. I thought we were rich!! SMDH!! 😂
I would have lived a real tent! Mine was a sheet tossed over tree branches but my dad wouldn’t let me sleep order it. But I loved the truck bed. Do you remember the old ice boxed where you had to put a block of ice in it? That’s what we had on the River bottom.
Oh, YES! My g-ma had 1!! Her sewing machine had a pedal to make it run, too!! My dad was considered a change of life baby, so his mom was abit older than my mom's.
I remember those sewing machines! My GM had one of those ice boxes. I don’t know how it worked cuz she refused electricity until my mom made her get it. She still never turned a light on. At the River, there was a big, black bumpy snake under the box that chased my dad. It was funny. Not to my mom
Such great memories! Is the train depot still there? I used to hide behind those big poles until I heard a train coming. There was an elderly man there who would give me M&M’s. Innocent days. Lol - there was a bank w revolving doors- my fav toy. Drove them nuts but so much fun! Sad about main st!!!!
Oh yes, revolving doors!! When we came to Dallas I LOVED those doors!! Im not sure. We went up 75N & took a R on Main St. I was so surprised abt the changing the streets, that's all I yammered abt!! 🤪🤪🤪
Why did they make those changes? Main Street is what gave uptown (as my dad called it) it’s charm. I know Kress has prob been long gone.
Good morning!!🙋♀️🥰🌞💯 I dunno. I left 4 Dallas at 19, & everything's different now. I haven't been to "uptown" in decades. 🙌🏼
Awwww - thanks for the sticker. Ditto! I left Dallas almost as soon I walked offstage from my hs graduation. Started college the next day. The class had a bon fire for students to burn stuff from hs like notes, etc. Not me. 2 bags of dresses, skirts, hose, and dang garter belt! Remember those?
