Our front yard in Cole County MO. Sandstone ridge, no topsoil, natives behind split rail and incorporated in front beds along with hardy perennials. For constant color, large pots of annuals. The red bud was a volunteer in just the right space!

Every time we go there I leave far more calm and relaxed than when we arrived. Too bad they keep finding our hiding spots and making us leave at closing time. 🙂
And don't forget the Climatron. That's a lifesaver for chasing away the winter blues.
The Arid House next to the Climatron is also great for winter blues.
Not much happening in the garden today. We sure could use some rain!
Today marks 10 weeks with only a total of an half inch rain on our side of the lake. It's been brutal. Had we been traveling in the Land Yacht, everything would be dead, even the drought tolerant plants.

Saw my first monarch at our home yesterday! Not ashamed to admit I teared up a little bit.
We’ve had one hanging around our swamp milkweed for about two weeks now. I call him our pet Monarch, he’s been so reliable.
