The IRS has always had a say in this because staying out of politics used to be a requirement for them to stay tax exempt. Before this, if they endorsed a candidate, the IRS would take away their tax exemption. But no more.

Doesn’t it mean that they regulate themselves and are able to change the constitutional order? It does not smell right.
