Threw up during the night and I was absolutely out cold and didn't wake up 😭 usually I'm such a light sleeper I wake up immediately when she's sick So now I'm torn if I want to take them again, will I sleep too hard that my child won't be able to wake me or was that my body just catching up on rest

The first few times I had trouble waking up for things at night but my body got more used to it where I can still sleep well but I’m a little more attuned to the sounds i need to be attuned to But if I take a break for some weeks I kinda start over again

Sounds like delta rebound. If you’ve been low on delta sleep for a while (the deepest sleep cycle) you can have a rebound sleep where you spend longer in delta sleep than people normally do. Likely not to recur until/unless you build up another deficit.

(REM rebound is can also happen and is a wild experience, with intense dreams. Last time I hit a REM rebound sleep I dreamed so hard I woke up thinking it was three days later than it really was!)

And of course, clearing a sleep deficit is a good thing in the long run! You’ll be more functional day to day without a delta deficit hanging over your head.
