That may be. 😹 That happens less in an apartment. In 15 years here, Misha on 2 occasions started meowing for me because I'd disappeared.🙀 I'd lain down on my bed & she didn't think I'd be there in the day time. When I answered her, she was ok.

😺 Just before we moved into our current house, we lived in an apartment and had 4 cats at the time. One, Milo, was very adventurous and loved to play in the hall. We were nervous at first, but he got to know everybody and even made a kitty friend down the hall. People would let him in for a visit…

…and he’d meow at our door when he got home. The others would play in the hall, but ran home if they saw strangers. 🙀 Had to leave the door open for them while they were out. We were the last unit on that floor, so didn’t have people walking by. Except to occasionally ask after Milo! 😻 It’s weird…

…when we think about it now. Seems crazy. But that was almost 30 years ago. Things were just different then. More trusting. We’ve never let any of our cats outside for real. Too many cars and coyotes. Franky, our only cat right now, is terrified of outside. He’ll peek from halfway up the stairs! I…

Yes, we were much more trusting long ago. A long time since I've had an apartment that opened onto an indoor hallway. Current & others, the front door opens to outside, = a house. As a kid & at first, my cats were indoor-outdoor 😺, but since I moved back home (2002), indoor only. Cars, coyotes, etc.

Even some humans.😨 Some cats wanted to go out bc didn't know the risks. Could Franky have had a bad experience before he came to y'all so he knows?😿 Petra was 4 yo when I adopted her. She expected to be indoor only, but likes to go out on the porch. We're 2nd level, so no one there but birds.

No. We got Franky and his 2 “brothers” as young kittens. The others were twins, but Franky was their cage mate since they were taken from their moms. They were always treated well. He’s just a total chicken. Hides if ANYONE comes over. Seriously. Other than the vet, we’re the only people he sees.
