How hard would it be to learn to speak Swedish?

Swedish and English are both Germanic languages, so it's considered fairly easy for English speakers to learn by linguists. Although some English speakers attempting to do so would very much disagree.

Swedish is known to be quite difficult as a second language but having a germanic language (English) as a base should help.

Most Swedes speak English. AND another language as well.

That little detail does not invalidate the need to learn Swedish if you want to move to Sweden.

I have a good head start, I can read and write some Swedish, and speak a little (with a really bad accent). I'm more than willing to make the effort if they'd only take me in.

I guess it depends on what you find hard or easy, but in relative terms for language learning? Pretty easy. It is Germanic like English though English is different because of all the other influences, there is common ground to be found.

But avoid stuff like Duolingo because they're designed to keep you hooked & not to be good at teaching you a language. It will make the journey seem harder & longer than it actually is.
