This is what it looks like inside. The bottom part originally has an extension that hooks into the top part, but it was too brittle and snapped off.

Photo showing the top and bottom part of the 3D print, which snapped in the middle.

Is there a way to use a nut and bolt embed? Or even just adding a cavity in the shaft to put a metal rod inside.

My next plan is to use a screw-in design with the BoltFactory extension in Blender. I was hoping to 3D print the whole thing. 🤔 extensions.blender.org/add-ons/bolt...

You have the layers working against you here, since especially with a thin shaft, it’ll always be weakest on planes parallel to the print bed. If you can print a square or hexagonal shaft laying down and then insert that, it’ll likely be a lot stronger since the layers are going lengthwise.

Yea. I wanted a ball bearing to fit in the middle, but I'm removing it to make the shaft thicker with the screw-in design.

Hope it works out! Bumping up the infill on the shaft and maybe switching to gyroid could help too. Good luck!
