āNo Kingsā is an awkward slogan here in the United, er, Kingdom, & tomorrow happens to be King Prince Charlesās official birthday & parade. So itās āNo Tyrantsā outside the US embassy.

NoKings works for me! Fuck the monarchy, everywhere! Bloodline rulership is antiquated and should be resigned to history!
Hard no thank you. Iāll keep a ceremonial king with no power over a republic where the risk of an authoritarian head of state emerging is very real.
I wouldnāt go to Thailand and say that, if I were you. (Until the world comes up with a perfect form of government Iāll stick with what we have in the UK. There are more āPresidentsā (whether voted for by the people or their own party) who do not deserve to hold that office.
There are protests in 5 šØš¦ cities tomorrow (Saturday). They seem to be using the āNo Tyrantsā descriptor as well.
Thank you to those across the pond
UK republicans might well disagree.
True. But, then, "republican" also has different meanings to Brits & Americans.
I meant in the UK sense.
www.republic.org.uk
I really was just wondering about that. Thanks
I think it's similar in Canada. When I was looking for info on protests here in London, England, I saw a "no tyrants" event in London, Ontario.
We don't like kings here, either. Ridiculous, wasteful institution
I prefer the āNo Fascist Dayā. Again, some questionable choices to brand an event or movement.
Is he still getting his State visit?
Yes. It would be popular with the British public if the invitation were withdrawn.
Heh. Whatever it takes - this is why books are translated for international markets. Agree about the tyrants and tyranny, itās just we do really prefer not to be monarchical, pace A Hamilton - knowyourmeme.com/memes/he-a-l... He A Little Confused, But He Got The Spirit | Know Your Meme
š
I was wondering about that.
1775 8647!
Well, it is different. For one, it has horses. And horses make a birthday parade ok by any standards. Tanks, not so much.
Whatever you call it itās really appreciated to see folks abroad care.
Itāll be interesting to see the mix. Iām American, & Iām sure there will be plenty other Yank migrants, but the locals are almost as appalled as we areāthere should be plenty of Brits.
I remember being horrified watching brexit go down. The fates of our countries are connected. The nonsense that festers in one often spreads to others in the former empire.
Whatever you want to call it, we are happy you will be with us.šš¼
Fair enough. Thanks for your support!
Here in the Netherlands, our king holds very little power, much less than our prime minister or an American president. So it's a weird slogan for us, too. It would be great if Trump were to just cut ribbons and visit other headpieces of state
Koningsdag is so much better than Trumpās birthday parade
I like it!
In Canada I feel comfy using āno tyrantsā because the context here around Indigenous sovereignty. Often āno kingsā is code for āletās ignore the treatiesā. Most of the country is owned by Indig, government by treaties with UK King, Canada is just manager. So āno kingsā often is anti-FN
You learn something every day! Thanks.
a ceremonial monarchy would be perfect for the US right now, I have to say. let the delusional Donald of Orange enjoy his pomp and parades, while elected representatives actually govern.
Watch him pull off an authoritarian takeover, with his military and maga audience... He'll have all the equipment he needs.
except pretty good chance of thunderstorms
We thank you
Thank you for the solidarity! Can you share pics/vids tomorrow?
Iāll see. Probably press photos will be better than mine!
The photos the press choose to publish may not be the full story. š
Jolly good. Thanks for joining in, mates, whatever you call it. (I knew all that Doctor Who stuff would come in handy some day.)
That sounds good to me, and I was wondering too
šŖPeaceful protesting šŖ Taco is crossing his fingers for violence....don't give him the opportunity Have fun with NO Kings day. Because Monday... We are back to calling senators to š STOP š this DEATH budget šŖPeaceful protesting šŖ on
Wowsie, that's awkward, isn't it? Sorry about that.
I was wondering how that was going to work if it wasnāt all people against the monarchy. Thanks for the info!
Thatās hilarious.
By popular (?) demand, a thread of pictures and videos from the No Tyrants protest outside the London embassy in London, 14 June 2025
There were a few nods to our British hosts, though the crowd was almost entirely American
The protest addressed an array of social problems
The Brits were busy with the official birthday of King Prince Charles and trooping the colour
Another recognition of Britain, this time in a quote from its most famous playwright
Most speakers were American, but this gentleman from the British group Stop Trump received rapt attention
Harvard was represented and also the subject of at least one (complimentary) sign. Strange times.
Chuckie should go. He's not his Mum and even she wasn't what she was mistaken for. Probably another seventy-five years until that is to express but Chuckie, #&*@ Chuckie.
This is getting enough reposts that a lot of people who donāt follow me are seeing it. So, for their benefit: Iām American. I just live in London. Iāve lived in various European countries since 2004.
We'd like no kings too, many of us in the UK. Perhaps next time.
Iām a devout republican. But, like a lot of my countrymen, Iām a total sucker for British pomp. Sir So-&-so, addressing judges as My Lord, KCs in ceremonial wigs & silk stockingsāitās all good.
I'm sure Trymp will bring it in in a few yeara
Itās only good over here. Back home? NO KINGS.
The best part of the protest for me is I can get there from my flat by boat. Thames Clippers is such a great thing.
Oops! That makes sense. I didn't realize King Charles and the tangerine wankmaggot shared the same birth date. That's unfortunate. #NoTyrants
āNo Kingsā works just as well in the UK (and the Netherlands) as it does in the US.
You are joining us in our fight against injustice. You can call it whatever you like! We appreciate it!
Weāll take that and thanks for the support!
King Charles birthday is November 14.
That is his actual bday; all British Monarchs since George II in 1748 have celebrated an official birthday that doesnāt necessarily correspond with their actual one, usually in late spring/early summer, to increase the probability of better weather for public celebrations
Isnāt it time to jettison the royal family?
I love that even better! ā¤ļø the UK!
lol
The UK is about 1/4 the size of the US. King Charles has (1) intellectual curiosity, (2) character and (3) understanding of the US Constitution at least 4 times greater than our presumptive king. Youāre right. We really just donāt want a tyrant.
So an actual king is having a birthday and parade and a wannabe king bitch boy is having his SHEIN version in the US the same fucking day! šbi mean it couldnāt be more ironic.
That works.
That works
IIRC the name was workshopped. According to the focus group, us Americans don't understand "despot", "dictator", "tyrant", "totalitarian", and "authoritarian"; like a sizable portion of us don't understand why those are bad things. Those people understand better what "king" means.
No worries. Iāll take that. Thank you for the support. Resist!
Embrace it. That bastard cheated on the mother of his children and treated her like hot garbage. #nokings Charlie
Westminster parliamentary systems work well, because pomp and ceremony rest on the ceremonial King and are kept away from the prime minister, and prevent the PM from building the stature around himself/herself to pull a Trump.
However you see it, we will love your support!!
No, keep it at no Kings
Thatās ok! Kings, Tyrants⦠location, location, locationš¤£š¤£
Should still be no kings. Theyāre all leaches.
But appreciate it none the less
American democracy appreciates your understanding of our Constitution. āNo Tyrantsā is a great slogan for this protest šš¼
So King Tampon the first also has a parade on his birthdayš
Understandable Thanks for the support
I'm thinking no clowns also works.
Thatās also a theme of the protest. Theyāre encouraging people to dress as Trump but with red clown noses & big clown shoes.
