Just realized one of the advantages of moving to Europe 20 years ago is my kids never had to do active shooter drills. This realization has generated a composite emotion in me consisting of 10% sorrow, 15% contempt, & 75% rage.

Imagine the emotions that come by actually *having* a child in this school system. The fact that my 14 year old daughter tells me in the morning that she sits in class sometimes and thinks “what if today is the day I don’t come home?” That stuff is gutting :-(
