Discovered 5 fat and happy swallowtail caterpillars on my volunteer dill this morning, which was such a beautiful way to start my day 🥰

I have planted lots of a Asclepias last year. And every week I look for any sign of caterpillars. Not one yet. I’m very jealous!

I’m not sure, but anecdotal evidence (from my own experience) suggests that the butterflies hatched in your garden return next year to lay eggs for the next generation. I raised a bunch one year and the next year I was inundated with caterpillars that ate my dill and parsley to the dirt.
