I think Wurman — let’s take a moment to say “wow, what an aptronym” — is less the problem than the measured liberal law professors who screeched that we should hear Wurman out.
We should never refer to ourselves as “liberal”. It’s an insult! “Liberal” really means: states rights, small federal gov, individual liberty, no federal welfare and free market. It got placed on Democrats a long time ago. We seriously need to detach ourselves from it.
Dude, we have to stop calling ourselves “liberal”. The word “liberal” means: free market, small federal government, individual liberty, no federal welfare. It’s like calling ourselves “Republican”! We are Socialists, NOT liberal.
Those crazy liberals at Manhattan Institute!
Genuinely didn’t think he ever was.
Brain wormed fascist covers it.
He never was. But many in that category defended his initial very bad foray into this “debate”
yea, i guess I mean it more as a type but also how do you think he’d describe himself? honestly don’t know
Guy who spent a bunch of time in Orban’s Hungary after Biden’s election
he wrote for the Claremont Independent
Oh, yikes
he worked on Rand Paul’s presidential campaign and for Tom Cotton. I’m not sure I care about how he’d describe himself, it’s perfectly clear who he is
if he wants to be thought of as not-that he should probably be doing something other than arguing that marginalia invalidates the plain reading of the Fourteenth Amendment and nobody noticed for 150 years
Gross
Flew all around the country to sue on behalf of property owners mad that their cities haven't cracked down on encampments.
“Classical liberal originalist”
He's listed alongside 11 FedSoc events - just this year. He has filled the time between those publishing a host of "what if the 14th Amendment isn't real" and "what is citizenship anyways" arguments. He's letting his actions describe himself just fine.
He did a fellowship in Hungary a few years back; there is no plausibly reason for that besides a desire for illiberal competitive autocracy rooted in nativism.
Really need the history and philosophy departments to start eating lunch with all the other departments.
