I think there’s a pendulum of “the voters are to blame” and “politicians are to blame” and I do think at this moment we’re firmly on the latter. They’re just providing nothing in terms of a way forward.

They also interpret “voters care most about the economy” as (1) a statement about ALL voters as opposed to many/most, and (2) a statement that they do NOT care about *literally anything else.*
it's actually worse than that: the voters only care about their personal economy, thus the drama during biden-harris regime over milkprices in oklahoma or eggprices generally. & then the agita over the big mac index even as maccers eaters ability to pay wentup with wage gains outpacing inflation.
and it's actually even worse than *that*: "the economy" means very different things to different classes. to while working class people considering it their inadequate wages and rising prices, the ruling class think it means shareholders don't have enough value
