like, no one in Canadian media genuinely knows how to handle a Blue Liberal government so they treat it as if we were being run by the NDP instead. it's very baffling.

it's made much worse, I think, by the non-existence of the NDP 1993-1997 would make for a good point of comparison as to whether this is standard or if it's purely a product of the modern media environment

Seems like a mix of both. There has always been a very strong pro-business, pro-conservative press in Canada. And with the Post being owned by Yankees mixed in with a toxic media environment, they are ramped up to 11 right now Having weak prospects for the CPC isn’t helping them either

They don’t know how to fight against this because they betrayed their own values. Calling the Carney government halfway crooks insufficiently different from Trudeau (reasonable IMO) is very difficult for them because they blew up their credibility talking about the WEF and eating bugs and shit.
