i don't want to be mean to PP but like, he's not making into the PMO while Trump is president i would be extremely skeptical that voters are going to double down on right-wing populism as American economic implosion + civil implosion happens

Carney is a neoliberal bastard and I really don’t like him. But I will say he is much smarter than Starmer. By a lot. He’s going to push as far right as possible. But I don’t think he’s dumb enough to keep pushing in that direction if he finds himself with Starmer’s polling numbers.
