Yeah I think both progressives and moderates should take a deep breath and think of how much politicians suck relative to their district. Manchin sucks, but he represents a very conservative state. Sinema and especially Lieberman should have been shot out of a cannon

And like, I have eclectic moderate politics but I’m also not really losing sleep over gentrifying urban areas having looney leftists, in fact, I’d prefer it. It’s when what works in one specific area that’s universalized that makes me annoyed.

Everyone blames Nader voters for Gore losing (?) in 2000 without mentioning the damage it did to the ticket to have that arrogant Zionist on the ticket.

Well good for them making sure Lieberman didn’t become vice president, they sure dodged the bullet of someone being pro-Israel entering the White House in 2001.

Dems sure like to work out on their base, trying to discipline it into voting they way they want. If people had a choice they probably would not even be 'members.' Parties hold the govt hostage.

Joe Manchin is the closest thing we got in America to the European phenomenon of a small centrist party being kingmaker and the ones with the final say on whether a law gets approved or not. (In Spain that role is filled by Basque and Catalan nationalists lmao)
