oh man this drove me insane
what part of it?

ah! yes, exactly. (though most of the discriminatory behavior I've seen in tech has been linguistic/ethnic in nature - how did that department wind up with 80% Gujarati surnames? that kind of thing.)
What exactly drove you insane about this?
does new delhi care about this?

Especially impressive given that caste discrimination is notionally outlawed by *checks notes* the Indian constitution
sorry i should have made that more clear
the Hindu American Foundation still goes out of its way to try and argue against anti-caste legislation in the USA: www.hinduamerican.org/existing-law...
This is a terrible misunderstanding of US anti discrimination law
yes that's the point, they're trying to kill any effective anti-caste legislation
Just from an argument perspective if its already illegal under current law ... why would you object to something being clarified as "yes we also mean this as something prohibited." Just a silly argument
Obviously because they don't want caste discrimination to be prohibited lol.
It drove a lot of ostensibly liberal Hindus insane too
wait...what?
