BTW, there is a very simple legal justification for states' declaring their independence. Trump has now explicitly and publicly renounced the Constitution. If he continues to claim that he is not bound by its restraints, then the states can declare that the Union is dissolved and they are ...

... no longer obligated to subordinate their sovereignty to the federal government. It's that simple. If Trump shreds the Constitution, then there is NO MORE UNITED STATES. The blue states would be free to secede and form their own separate alliances or a new Union without the red states.

My husband and I close on the sale of our house in a few weeks and almost everything in it will be sold and will be going to Mexico. We don't have residence visas but will be working towards it once there.

We were even thinking of maybe going to Columbia because it's easier to obtain residency there than in Mexico.
