I work w/ a 5'2" born and husky baritone of Asian descent. She sometimes does 'voice reveals' as a shocker factor for fun. If you said whatever in a grocery store, here, none of us would think anything. Most of us. The privilege of living in polite society, I guess.

Cis gal in Arkansas here. It's wild how much your voice sounds like my recorded voice. We come in all shapes, sizes, and sounds. The more relaxed and confident I am about conversation, the more normal™ I think I sound. But play back a recording? Who is she? Is vocal dysphoria a thing?

It really sounds pretty good. I wouldn’t be sure of the gender of the person whose voice it is, if I didn’t see you. But I wouldn’t think, male. I think it fits you. Anyone seeing you would think your voice codes female.

I found a new respect for person's brave enough to transition. I'm 76 and have to take testosterone blockers to treat recurring prostate cancer. I side affects are horrible I hope you don't experience them. Your voice is fine.

When you lack the hormones your brain needs, you feel bad. Conversely, the fact that I can take estrogen and have effectively undetectable testosterone and feel amazing is a pretty strong indicator that there's more to this.

It's good that you can balance your hormones and feel well. I grew a beard because my voice changed and being a small man I was occasionally addressed a ma'am. Good luck to you.

I'm a voice coach and I think you sound marvelous.

It's actually just the same voice I've used my whole life, even before transition. But I used to do a lot of voice mimicry as a kid, which probably helps.

Voice mimicry is a terrific learning tool. Of course you want to sound like *you* but there are so many different vocal characters and identities to explore and integrate to find what fits.
