The gender with which a person identifies has no bearing on their potential to become pregnant: only females/women can become pregnant. This is why no trans woman can become pregnant: they're not a woman/female; they're a natal male/man who identify as a female/women.

"pregnant people" also serves to acknowledge that trans men can be pregnant.
