People make bad choices all the time. It's important for you to place boundaries where they need to go, even if it means those people don't get access to you. I'm always sorry when family and friends choose fear/hatred over understanding and love.

I passed a family having a reunion in the park the other day and it dawned on me that I’ll never have that. But I do have my daughter and my fiancée. They make me happy. I remember how I used to protect my sister and now I no longer have a sister. It hurts, but I’m better off without them.
