Israel doesn't need a missile interceptor to intercept missiles from Palestine. It needs it to intercept missiles from other countries. The Cold War didn't end. It expanded to include other countries.

For the same reason Israel started striking Gaza. This has been cyclical for a long time. The person who introduced the Amendment is a White Christian Nationalist, not pro-Palestinian.
