It seems like except for a few exceptions, being elected changes whoever is elected. There are so many where I don't know what happened to them or what got to them.

Also, all our electeds are basically hostages right now and not free. Let’s free them.
I've watched the arc a few times. I don't think it changes people too much. It reveals them for who they are. Sometimes though, people come in very ignorant about the mechanic of governance and before they can get a handle on things they are inadvertently trapped in the system.
I'm curious what happened with Andy Kim, House obviously isn't exactly the same as Senate but it seems close enough to be going in already more or less familiar with the ropes. Somehow went directly from breaking the ballot line bullshit to becoming another useless Senate Dem.
Also Gallego
Well Gallego was apparently just doing a Sinema where he wanted to replace her as the elected self-enriching grifter from Arizona, which is maddening in terms of how do you deal with not being able to know they're doing this until after they're in and then you're stuck with them for six years.
Dude was so thirsty for years…maybe that’s a 🚩
Not sure what's going on with Kim but it's not nearly so obvious as with Gallego.
I don't really get it either. I do know the senate is a very very different chamber than the house so there is that.
I don't know enough about him to know what he wants. But it probably doesn't help that Cory Booker is currently super influential in the caucus right now and he feels like he can't piss him off too much.
A lot of the decisions made at the start are super important and a lot of people who think themselves reformers come in and don't understand which decisions are important and why. Then before they know it, they are reliant on the wrong people for the wrong things.
Are there resources for reformers to learn which decisions are important? Any books you recommend?
As an outsider, I have also seen this time and time again. The institution wears the best folks down. And it’s intentional. And happens in a LOT of state capitols too.
