I'm starting to suspect that the AI race is a feint on the part of China, so that we'll waste our time while they work on tools that are actually useful.

That is the cogent analysis of the situation. "AI" is just a cash grab by oligarchs which will never benefit the working class but only destroy it. 1) Strict criminal AI liability for company owners 2) 100% taxes on all AI profits 3) Zero public funding 4) Increasing fee schedule for AI energy use
