That's the tip of the 🇺🇸 culture iceberg. 🇨🇦, 🇩🇪, 🇨🇭 - we all have a huge number of guns yet without the mass murder problem. Key problems are 1. An economy that requires the oppression of people to thrive & therefore encourages the devaluation of human life, & 2. The bizarre USian fear of regulation.
Americans love their country but fear their government. It's beyond bizarre. 🇨🇦 🇩🇪 🇨🇭 have nowhere near 🇺🇸 levels of gun ownership but even if they did, it still wouldn't be a fair comparison. 🇨🇦 🇩🇪 🇨🇭 don't sell ~4M AR-15s a year.

but confirming facts before I post is a bad habit of mine so imagine my shock to discover that they were absolutely available for sale in Canada at the time! They've been banned since 2020, but perfectly legal then. So why had exactly 0 mass murders been committed with the stupid things in Canada?
Regulation. You had to have been a sane genius living in a home with multiple gun safes (1 for the weapon, another for the ammo), been able to afford the ridiculous price, and also be able to tap dance blindfolded while jumping 7m in the air through moving hoops. You know who complained about that?
NOBODY. Meanwhile south of our border, some clown high school truant with a documented history of posting racisr misogyny on social media can stroll into the neighborhood big box, and waltz out with a sub-machine gun and enough ammo to take out LHR? YEAH, NAH.

Agreed on all points except the supremacy of regulation. As I always point out, Peter Drucker famously said that "culture eats strategy for breakfast". Regulation is strategy. It will continue to have zero effect unless and until Americans finally change their culture of "guns = safety and freedom".
Oh, I think we're very much on the same page there, I'm sorry i was unclear. Regulation works for 🇦🇺🇬🇧🇨🇭🇩🇪🇨🇦, and all other peer nations because our cultures are healthy. Regulation will never work in the USA for all the reasons Jim Jeffries points out. It's just too late.
