Where are the real incentives for us to switch, Dale? I'm looking at solar and it's going to cost ~ £10k with a 8-10yr payback. Why aren't more banks giving us 0% loans to make the switch or an extension to your mortgage at 0%?

Lack of green financing options. Also current financial regulations make it prohibitive. I know the government is looking into reform of green financing as part of their solar roadmap/ review. Not sure when the loans for solar panels which you pay back through your 'lecky bill will be available.

Why is it taking them so long? I know Ed Milliband is trying but he needs to hurry up as there are so many people out there who'd happily make the switch.

This particular page; www.greenfinanceinstitute.com/products-sol... ; might be of interest to you. I found it via footnote 32 in the government solar roadmap.
