Since watching the @indivisible.org webinar last week that broke their zoom, I’ve signed up for both online and in person meetings and events. I’ve gone to Good Trouble rallies in 2 cities, went to a deescalation training @bostonindivisible.bsky.social, did a couple more webinars

Tonight one of the @bostonindivisible.bsky.social email lists led me to a neighborhood event in a stranger’s house in JP. I went, we watched Erica Chenoweth speak, and we had a discussion. I have NEVER done anything like this before. But my introvert self really loves it??

Maybe it’s the IRL version of an echo chamber, particularly since I live in blue, blue Boston and keep meeting retired middle class professionals. Pretty homogenous but also not. So many experiences to consider and lots of ideas of how to mobilize and DO something
In the past week I’ve gotten ideas on other ways I can be active in addition to my daily email/makeshift newsletter. I’ve found community outside of work. I’ve figured out how to tap into small groups of likeminded people that I don’t find on my phone 😹
I may not have gotten tickets to see Gracie Abrams for a second night in Boston but I did something cool and productive tonight that buoys me
I love all of this so much 🫶 we can do hard things
I love that I have made all these retiree friends and they have adopted me as their token young person even though I'm not that young
I know I only have the time (and energy) to go to these rallies and these meetings in strangers' homes now because it's summer. But I'll make the most of it and figure out what I can keep doing regularly (beyond my daily emails and letters and faxes and calls).
You do what you can when you can cause burnout is reallll
