East coast mountains are old and tired, their edges worn down by time. I find them less awe inspiring than the western mountains, but more relatable.

i've only seen west coast mountains once (in alaska, in like 2006) and i always feel let down by east coast mountains. i love them tho. they're much less impressive to look at, but the deep sense of "wow this has been here *forever*...." is intense
