FWIW, I've never had anesthesia for one. It's actually fine - like fine to the point where I'm a little confused as to why sedation ever became a thing.

That's good actually. I have a certain uneasiness about the thought of being anesthetised. My trepidation led me to cancelling a knee surgery once.
For anyone curious, it's because you don't eat for a day before, and when I said I wanted to go get Ramen as soon as it was done a nurse said "most people get nauseous if they eat after because of the anesthesia," and my doc said, "or you could just ask to go without; every doc I know does."
So basically the reason I initially went without was so I could eat a bowl of Ramen when I knew I would be famished.
Bonus: you don't have to sit around in a wait room for half an hour or forty minutes to make sure you're sober enough to be released and then wait around for a wheelchair. You just go put your pants on, thank the nurse and walk out.
Don’t you dare rain on my parade
