We’ve made a rod for our own backs by flogging the same core group of players for 3 seasons, exacerbated by our failings in the transfer market over several windows. But can we view this season the same way the Liverpool lot did the year Van Dijk cabbaged his knee, providing we get summer 25 right?
Poor Gabriel, we had two or three occasions when he went down holding his "hammy" during games in recent weeks and perhaps he should have been taken off and rested and not risked a season ender. Overplayed would be my diagnosis.
He hasn’t been overplayed relative to others who remain uninjured, but realistically every player on this list is “overplayed” through the sheer mass of schedule. Not much we can do about that
Sixteen defeats for that lot is madness. But as my friend said to me last night…. “16 defeats so far”
19 Nineteen!!!!! Madness
Play the reserves and kids at Everton the result doesn't matter.Cant afford any more injuries
JUST FADE ME FAM
It’s crazy how we’ve had so many of this specific injury in one season. I would be shocked if there isn’t a medical team shakeup soon
It’s long past time to take a hard look at the whole physio team
Exactly. Need to review staff and make changes.
Interesting that all 3 of our major hammy injuries have come after these players seem to have “deloaded” a bit. Saka after an EFL game, Havertz in Dubai, and Gabriel after missing a game for Brazil.
Yeah, perhaps coincidence, but interesting!
Small sample size but makes me think the modern “just keep playing them” strength&conditioning argument maybe has some merit
Poor Gabi! Must be heartbroken as we all are. His energy was so vital for us. He would’ve relished the Madrid encounter! Wishing him a speedy recovery 🙏
Generally you wouldn’t have a problem playing your center backs every reasonably meaningful game. But we ask our two guys to do a lot of work. And we’ve seen Kiwior can’t do that work.
yeah ngl we might be cooked
💔💔💔🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I assume first leg will come too soon for Cala but hopefully there’s a chance for the second leg. MSL Cala Saliba Timber
