yeah anything that runs software and has access to a network (although really any data transfer interface) is a potential double agent

(and then papering over it with "tech" is kind of a trojan horse for turning any artifact into a double agent and then gaslighting all "what, that's just what technology is, keep up. do you want to be known as a luddite??")
