I've been tempted to say several times that AI has its uses (when treated properly as a kind of software & not a religion), but I've been through 3 rounds of chatbot hype in my career & I've never seen them do any good so good morning 🌶️

I’ve found every chatbot encounter to be completely useless except for starting off with collecting my info and doing an initial multiple choice question to determine which actual person the chat should route to.

Any attempt to actually solve my problem or “deflect” the call back to something on the webpage has failed miserably.

If I’ve arrived at your chatbot, it’s because I couldn’t google what I needed and it wasn’t in your FAQs and I grudgingly went to the chat because someone will probably answer faster than it will take to get to a person through the phone system.
