As far as this particular thread, I have long felt modern story telling is mostly devoid of soul and that unnameable quality which makes stories worth repeating - other than a handful, and two would be The Lord of the Rings - the original trilogy, though I have not read the books, but I mention that

because I feel like most movies and tv shows made over the last 20-30 years are total garbage. Like >90%. Anyway LOTR is what I would consider "the gold standard" for movies made in my lifetime that will remain forever timeless. For books, that would probably be Harry Potter. And for video games

Reading is the only communication which (can) monopolize attention. I mention this because though I haven't played it, I have read about it, and I feel like reading

on UESP I have gotten a much better understanding of the depth and quality of The Elder Scrolls than I ever did playing. Though I wouldn't say I missed points entirely playing In a sense it almost mirrors how things work in reality (because video games are not the reality but they are a reality)

In an uncanny, strange, hard to describe way the feel of Elder Scrolls lore is different, but still true, depending on whether one is playing a solo game like Skyrim or Oblivion, or playing a multiplayer game (which can be played solo) like TES:online, or reading about it. Just like . . . real life!

A strangely specific reflection of reality, part one: (contrary to the reply to my comment I am not very clever) www.reddit.com/r/elderscrol...

All the text won't fit so click the link instead --- During the recent PSN free to play weekend, I came across Volume 3 of this while wandering around waiting to enter Cyrodiil. I'm not sure if it was specifically due to the typos that stuck out like a sore thumb, or what it was, but a couple days later I had the line bouncing around my skull and could NOT remember where it was from. I even searched for it on both bing and google and was flabbergasted that supposedly that specific sequence of words was not present anywhere online. Copilot was also unable to find it, and suggested I thought of it and didn't know. That seemed unlikely. A few minutes later I realized it was slightly different phrasing. Instead of
