Well you asked for it lol
Well you asked for it lol
No, I did not "ask for it". I corrected you, because it does matter the difference between striking a snake, 'stomping snakes to death', or killing a snake, both in the context of Greek mythos and your modern day thread to nature vs wealth. bsky.app/profile/sere...
I greatly appreciate the responses! Clearly you are much more knowledgeable about these things than I am, I mostly am just pointing out what I find interesting, especially when I see relation to things happening today (or much closer to today than the times when the myths were originated)
But my main points, if I have any, is to highlight things which are seemingly infinitely reoccurring, because even if those things are described in fantastical mythological terms it is likely those who created the stories were telling a highly embellished story about real world people and events
and though our technology and media may change there is a reason for the phrase "it isn't a [ blank ] problem, it is a political one" and political just refers to civilization, society, social, etc Which is to say people in general don't really change a whole lot, on the whole, generally speaking
As far as the "ask for it" I was mostly joking because I have a tendency to kinda just uh once I get going, I'm gone lol So I was joking about how your one post response led to my however many
re: snakes one point I do want to reemphasize, and I am going to look up those mythological references, but I thought the specifics of each version was fitting given the political debates in the modern world around ... a lot. It's like mythology saw the problems from centuries away kinda spooky
