Spent this Dance Camp weekend learning different ways to integrate dance elements in school settings. So many brilliant, practical ideas! Simple tasks of counting, clapping, turning, jumping in short combinations can produce mayhem and hilarity in minutes.

I usually enjoy being a student and this weekend I appreciated the freedom to follow along but also collaborate with generous strangers. A contact improv duet, a quintet sequence including 7 distinct elements in 40 sec., a whole group swarm in slow motion... Delightful! 🙌🏾

Sounds wonderful! This makes me so nostalgic for when I used to dance too. I used to love contact improv.

Any chance you might find your way back to it or some other dance form? I ask only because my own resurgence has come in the last 3 years and steadily intensified. It's not an exaggeration to say that finding dance community in Vienna has reshaped my life. ☺️

Hopefully! I've had some serious health issues recently that I'm still getting over. Once I put those behind me I will definitely be digging out my tango shoes again. It's much longer since I've done any contemporary dance, but I'd love to pick it up again one day. Never say never!

I truly believe all K-12+ educators should be required to spend time in Early Education classes with students. It gifts you so many ideas as well as teaches great lessons on not sweating the small stuff.
