Day 11 of new born life and it’s fair to say I am extremely tired.
Day 11 of new born life and it’s fair to say I am extremely tired.
It does get better. Promise.
I wont tell you how Munckins doing,😔 but I promise you it will get better. Long gone are the days of "It is dangerous for me to pick you up child...." Also I had to relearn "sleep when baby sleeps" during my second set of Shared Parental Leave.
Our first didn't sleep for about three months and it was very, very trying Young Ben, our lovely 2nd, didn't sleep through for about two years There wasn't even a word for how tired we were
That sounds about right for new mums I’m afraid. When I was a new dad I did as much as I could to support, but I lacked some of the necessary equipment and saw first hand how wearing it is
I'm sorry, tired mama. It gets easier. Hang in there, rest as much as possible, and prepare for the teenage years. I'd rather have triplets than a couple of teens. At least you know where your newborn is.
Quelle surprise!
Ah mate. It does get easier. And a few days after that point, they turn into teenagers.
You’ve literally got a few hours where you go ‘wow my kids are actually really nice and I feel at peace’ and then it all goes to shit again for about 10 years.
But there is joy to be found in the early years because: a. They can’t talk back b. They stay where you left them c. Fairly soon you can make them laugh by pulling funny faces, and they get bored of that far quicker than you will
Getting any sleep? At 100-something-plus days since Number Two came along I am basically an exhausted husk.
Don't want to alarm anybody here, but mine are teenagers and I'm still knackered...
(although given that's because I've stayed up a few nights chatting shit with them recently, that's probably on me...)
That was ungentlemanly of you, Dreadnought. (god, I love, love, love that film)
I look forward to fitting in PhD, work, side work and exercising the nag into this new life schedule
My experience is that it somehow works out! I'm deliberately not writing anything that might be construed as advice here because the three of you (plus horse and dog) will work out your own rhythm, I'm sure.
Kill two birds by writing the PhD while on horseback. Would be apt.
Get horse and baby to entertain each other, simple
As soon as he can ride I’m putting him on the yards resident shetland pony, Clara. Can’t wait.
You're not supposed to use neigh-i.

I can’t imagine doing this with another one mooching around! I am getting sleep but just not used to it being broken into 2-3 hour chunks 😵💫. M is back to work on Tuesday for a couple of weeks, I don’t envy him!
