What does this even mean, anyway? The same series that has The Gender Coffin (admittedly nitpicking but still) and talks about how all of these grand empires fell into rot doesn't especially seem to be right-wing in any substantive sense.

A lot of people seem to think that games that are hard on purpose and don't have difficulty options or other accessibility features to make the games playable by literal 6 year olds are like anti disabled gamer in that the game wasn't made "for everyone" and thus exclusionary.

This is amusing to me as someone who just started playing her first soulslike with Nightreign, a game where you do right wing things like work together with two other strangers, vote where to go on a map, earn and share runes regardless of skill in battle, and pick each other up when the other falls

I think there are some legs to the trappings being vaguely right wing coded. You can trace that back to Berserk, who's author was a legit freak processing that in real time until he passed. That said I think it's a complete failure to engage with any of the actual themes of the games too

Its funny because in a meta way, DS3 is a real fuck you to conservative nostalgia. Endless parade of nostalgia and fan service, ultimately leaves you in a collapsing reality where everything has decayed to sand while the last two people alive(ish) fight over the last scrap of power
