Mind you, I'm not sure about that, but to me the big challenge is the political process of getting new justices on the Court. But if the political process allowed for non-Trumpist justices, it boggles the mind to think that they would honor decisions by a lawless and corrupt Supreme Court.
I appreciate this perspective! Also the reminder of the different circumstances of the reconstruction-era court vs. now. Having been born and raised in the South during the last decade of Jim Crow, I have strong feelings about the horrors unleashed post-reconstruction, and that influences my views.
