It's absolutely ludicrous, this has happened to every driver from Gasly. It isn't the driver. We know Yuki can drive, they basically shouldn't even think of changing the second driver until Yuki is routinely within 3/10 of Max

Wasn't it also Sainz, Kviyat and the other Aussie whose name escapes me before Gasly? Might need to invent quantum computing on my wood-burning laptop just to keep count...
Sainz never drove for the senior Red Bull team - he absolutely should have done but I suspect they didn’t put him in there because when he was teammates with Max at Toro Rosso they got very competitive with each other…
The issue with Ricciardo and Kvyat was slightly different. Kvyat had been underperforming but he was improving and they really wanted an excuse to put Max in the senior team for PR. Ricciardo was competitive with Max in 2016-18 but he left because he could see the way the wind was blowing
But overall, yes, Red Bull has tended to chew up and spit out drivers who aren’t the favoured wunderkind. Webber and Ricciardo were both very competitive against Vettel and Max respectively but it was clear that politically the management were always going to favour their teammates
Yep, that's pretty much it: if you didn't know how good Perez was before he went to RB you'd think 'why did he get that seat?'
I forgot Albon too
Oh, me too 🙈 Seems like he's been at Williams since the Treaty of Westphalia 😑
