I grew up eating raw oysters out of the Appalachicola Bay, which was 70 miles away. They were so cheap when I was a teen and into my 20s. Nowadays, it's rare for me to eat a raw one and I won't be doing that anytime soon while this flesh eating bacteria is common in the area.
