I have a marine safety airhorn I keep by the backdoor for the same except only used it for bears, so far...thank goodness. Works better than anything! Thanks

No bears on the island I live on - the ocean currents too strong for them to swim over here. But cougars, even the occasional elk make it onto this island

Oh, we have the big cats, and I have heard their unmistakable screams, but thank goodness they stay away. We do, however, have their smaller #cat cousins all around...especially when the dogs and I are gone.

No bobcats or lynx here - I imagine they'd be a threat to our chickens...not sure about the goats but my gut tells me that wouldn't go well. Especially Spring when we have little ones
