Realize my reply is late, but the gist is that the court repeatedly undid the apparent will of Parliament, for better or worse. Canada is unique in that the court’s action tended to please “the left”. However, I don’t at all believe it was politically motivated in the same manner as it is in the US
I see it less as pleasing to the left, and more ruling in favour of citizens’ rightd over corporate or governmental entities than the US courts.
