My girlfriend worked for the community mental health center here. One of her clients had *severe* vascular dementia. Like, didn’t remember her after seeing her yesterday. But she used to be a nurse so she knew *exactly* how to answer questions to not get committed. It was fucking awful.
She got her in a hotel room from being homeless and living in her car and she forgot where she was and ended up across town panicking and calling the police about her missing car, her pets got left in the hotel room for like two days. Eventually her car got towed with the animals inside.
Driver couldn’t see em cause of all the shit piled up. She had no idea what happened to her car. They couldn’t get help for her until she literally hit rock bottom. Then she kept like walking up to the nurses’ station and acting like she worked there.
