I think progressive CANDIDATES probably need to do that. Mamdani's earnest, optimistic tact is making Jeffries look extra dumb. I don't think progressive voters on Bluesky or Twitter or at town halls need to police their tone.

I loved your article today. But I disagree about liberals standing down in red/purple states primaries. Every time elected Centrists bash Ds from other states, it damages the D brand and it makes it that much harder for other Ds to get elected because the message is "Ds are all bad, except me."

I think progressive being loud and unapologetic is actually helpful for progressive candidates to "meet in the middle" by taking a more "disciplined" tone and approach. Mamdani comes off as more reasonable and approachable because to folks cause he doesnt act like an online leftist.
