I remember when she died of urinary tract complications (which happens, don't get me wrong) I thought "oh that poor thing was probably stressed out of her gourd 24/7." 😞

Well, everyday is an opportunity to learn something new and awful and this was that for me today.

I remember all the accusations that they kept that poor cat heavily drugged for live events.

I knew her name was Tartar Sauce, but they spelled it "Tardar Sauce." Guess that explains why.

The story I heard them give was that she was named by their little kid, who couldn’t pronounce “tartar”.

I mean, that's believable. When my sister was little, she had a stuffed turtle that she just named "Turtle" but "Turd" for short.

One of my childhood cats was named Kinder. We’d tell people it was German for “child”, which is true enough, but the real reason is my baby sister mispronouncing “kitty cat” as “kinder cat”.

Little sisters have a habit of that. My grandfather was know to everyone as “Buzz”. His little sister called him “big brother”, but it came out as “big buzzer”. Soon, everyone was calling him “Big Buzzard”, and that got shortened to “Buzz”..

My life is worse for finding out. At least Thurston Waffles is a sensible cat name... cat_yell.mp4

I had a friend that went to some event and got like VIP access to Grumpy Cat and he said that cat, or he thinks it was the cat, smelled fucking awful, and it seemed miserable.
