I mean the majority of teetotalers are addicts. I didn’t even make the claim. I’m just, “Yes, And”ing a writer who writes for DC comics. It’s largely just a way of reconciling the way that John is written in the Justice League vs how he’s written in his own books.
When they put John with heavy hitters they have him slinging spells all over the place. It’s not really my vibe. I prefer in his own books where he basically just wanders into magic nonsense, makes some snarky remarks, and lets the universe implode on the guy who bit off more than he could chew.
