We get lots of Americans telling us things we see in films aren't the actual universal standard in real America lol(like those red paper cups Hollywood movie university dorms are drowning in are apparently not ubiquitous in real life)

They’re plastic not paper and they are literally everywhere. Red is just the most common color for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ reason.

Not only are red Solo cups real, they are in fact a staple of just about every party/large gathering in the country if you're serving any kinds of beverages to people.

I mean, you'll find clear plastic ones too, and people drinking outta other (nonbreakable hopefully) glasses... but for a party, the red solos are cheap, sturdy, writeable-on with a marker, and come in packs of 50 or 100. Great party supply! They are very very very common
